Brief: engage tourists in an interactive and fun-filled journey through Bath's
rich heritage

As the sole graphic designer on a dynamic team tasked with showcasing the newly renovated Bath World Heritage Centre, I played a crucial role in bringing this multifaceted project to life.

My responsibilities included designing and launching an app, a 3D globe interactive screen, and various other elements that now feature prominently in the centre. The goal was to create engaging experiences that would attract both locals and tourists, encouraging them to learn about Bath's rich history.

Collaborating closely with developers, a 3D modeller, and the rest of the team, I contributed to the creation of interactive exhibits and displays that inspire, educate, and immerse visitors in the UNESCO World Heritage site. Effective communication was key in planning, building, and delivering these elements, ensuring the final outcome was both cohesive and impactful.

When analysing the brief, we conducted extensive research into our target audience, identifying key pain points and opportunities for improvement. We explored strategies to develop an app that not only addresses these needs but also creates a memorable and engaging experience for residents and tourists from around the globe.

The Bath World Heritage App

We developed an engaging and interactive tool packed with fun features, including customisable trails, quirky facts, and a GPS map that allows users to build bespoke itineraries based on their preferences. The app also offers unique experiences like collecting augmented reality characters, taking creative selfies, and finding golden acorns hidden around the city to reveal hidden gems.

This project was a significant milestone in my career, as it was the first app I designed from start to finish. The development process challenged me to expand my skills in various areas, including platform-specific design, wireframing, testing, and delivery.

The experience provided me with invaluable knowledge and expertise, ultimately resulting in an app that enhances visitors' exploration of Bath's UNESCO World Heritage site in a fun and memorable way.
